Hi, I’m Ian, a high school student, aspiring neurosurgeon, and founder of MedBreak.
Medicine has always been more than just a career goal for me...it’s a calling. Since I was young, I’ve been fascinated by how the human body works, especially the brain. The idea that a single procedure could change someone’s entire reality (restore movement, speech, or even consciousness) is what first drew me to neurosurgery. But even beyond the science, what I love most is being able to help people when they’re most vulnerable. I want to spend my life not just treating problems, but giving people hope.
That’s also why I created MedBreak.
As a student from a small town, I know how hard it can be to find clear, engaging, and trustworthy information about health and medicine. Most of what’s out there feels either too complicated, too impersonal, or just made for professionals. I wanted to create something different, a space where curious students, future doctors, and everyday readers could explore medicine in a way that actually makes sense.
To help make that happen, I use AI tools to brainstorm, structure, and co-write many of the posts you see here. Every article is carefully edited by me, fact-checked, and shaped in my own voice. I think AI is a powerful tool, not a shortcut or an "easy-way out", but a way to learn faster, think deeper, and explain things better. It’s part of the future of medicine, and I want MedBreak to reflect that.
This blog is my way of learning out loud. Every post is a chance to break down big ideas, ask meaningful questions, and grow with others who care about science, health, and making a difference. Whether you’re here to learn something new, follow your own passion, or just see what medicine is all about, I’m glad you’re here.
Thanks for being a part of it.
